Rotary friends and friends of Rotary
When you serve to change lives, your actions today can help extend the lives of others.
Last week we relocated our club meeting to the Garden State hotel in the CBD, We adjourned to a private room for a very well attended meeting and we enjoyed good fellowship and delicious food. Our hosts the Mullens family were very generous serving Italian fare from their downstairs restaurant Tippy Tay. Our members enjoyed unbelievable value for money and the pub even donated a $200 raffle prize.
Our Guest speaker was publican Matthew Mullens who delivered and exceptional presentation on early Victorian entrepreneur Alfred Felton and told us about the extra ordinary generosity through the Felton bequest. A snippet for our Art lovers is the Felton bequest has contributed $3 Billion in Art works (in today’s terms) to the National Gallery of Victoria
Next week we will have Professor Stephen Nutts from the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute Cancer/Medical Research presenting to the club back at HQ
I received an email from club secretary Vijay Susarla letting me know his living and working arrangements have recently changed and he will be seeking a club transfer to another Rotary club closer to home in Tarneit
