It was great to be back a Conochie Hall, spending time with some familiar faces, enjoying good company, good fellowship and a meal.
Next week our guest speaker will be Rotarian Susie Cole who will be talking about the Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network. Our Club is actively involved in the RIMERN project, and it will be great to get an update.
The Board met on Wednesday evening, and I’m pleased to let everyone know:
- There will be a Membership Strategy Workshop held to develop a 3-4 year plan for membership growth. The date of the workshop will be on Saturday 26 March from 10 am to 4 pm. If you would like to attend please email Fabienne by 5th March. We are looking for a broad cross section of the membership to participate
- The Secretary’s position for Rotary year 22/23 has been allocated to Justine Paragreen, congratulations Justine on your successful nomination
- Save the date - Changeover date is Wednesday 6th July 2022 at Amore Hotel Richmond, look out for further details.
- A Vocational site meeting is planned on Wednesday 24th March at a Brewery in Brunswick, it’s a partner’s night with a planned site tour followed by a meal, look out for further details and how to book your place
- The Art Show @ Swinburne University: dates have been confirmed 25th June to 3rd July 2022 with the Gala Opening night on Friday 24th June 2022

The Hawthorn Makers market is back for 2022, with the first market being Sunday 6th March, please put it in your diary and support this club event.
This is one of the club’s major initiatives and we need everyone on board, so if you haven’t been to the market for a while, please make an effort to turn up.
Even during a Covid-interrupted 2021, a financial report for the HMM has a net income of over $17,000. The funds raised from the market are used to support a variety of projects led by community groups in the local area which deliver support programs, youth and vocational programs and humanitarian projects in overseas countries
