Happy New Year to all. I hope you took the time to enjoy the break, spend time with your families and loved ones so that you could come back energised and refreshed in 2024 and continue to “Create Hope in the World and in our Community”.

Our first event for 2024 was held on Wednesday 17^th at the Box Hill RSL. Thank you to the twenty plus members and partners who attended. Again, a pleasant fellowship event enjoyed by all. In fact, a number of members remarked that we should hold more social events there. The food is always great and most of us can enjoy the “Seniors” discounts on offer.

I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 24^th January 24. Our Guest Speaker will be Scott Dawes and the topic will be “An Olympians Journey”.

Let’s work together, to take action to create hope in the world and in our local communities.

24^th February - Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

The club will run its next sausage sizzle at the Bunnings Hawthorn location. This activity raises over $2,000 for our charity activity so it would be great if we can get volunteers to man the event.

The Volunteer Roster and subsequent emails will come out shortly.

3^rd March 2024 – Myeloma Australia

Myeloma Australia will be conducting its annual fundraiser on Sunday 3rd March 2024. This is the same date as the first Hawthorn Makers Market for 2024 and the club is proposing to combine this activity around the Hawthorn Makers Market as it will provide a significant opportunity to promote this cause.

The club is requesting that all members participate in this event if possible and come together to raise further funds and awareness to support the 22,000 Australians living with myeloma.

More details will be provided in due course.

Tuesday 16^th April 24 – Cluster Club Meeting

There is a discussion among the cluster club presidents of a proposed Cluster Club Meeting to be held on Tuesday 16^th April, 2024. Therefore, this will take the place of our meeting on Wednesday 17^th April. The details for now are:

Were you aware that you don't have to wait for an Invitation email from Alan Lorenzini to Register for a Club Meeting, or indeed any Club Event? You can do it at any time (within the Registration period).

How? You Register by accessing the Calendar on our Home Page: click on "Calendar" in the blue Menu line and select "Events Calendar" - you will see the current month's Events listed in calendar format (Image 1).

Then click on the Event you wish to Register for: you will see the Online Registration screen (Image 2); click on "Members" and follow the usual procedure (Register yourself first; if you have a Guest, Register them next; then Pay for both Registrations together).

As the meerkat says - Simples!
