Our regular Fellowship dinners are becoming very popular and well supported by our members, their partners and guests. I am sincerely and deeply impressed that our Club Service team under the leadership of David Chu and Brenda Innes try passionately to make this an exciting monthly event. Our fellowship dinner at Con Noi Italian Trattoria on Wednesday in Camberwell Road was a nice socially bonding evening. With Thirty-Two of us filling up the front dining area, with laughter and boisterous conversation, we certainly lifted the ambience of this lovely restaurant with our Rotary Camberwell vibe and spirit. I would like to thank members partners; Bev Allen, Bernadette Blood, Glenda Davies, Denise Charman, Lyn Don, Sue Hope, Margaret Joss, Greg Watson and our newly inducted Rotarians; Justin Kim, Jasmine Hu and our incoming member Yana Ussenko and last but not least our “traveling Queenslander” Warwick Heil. Congratulations to our Club Service team for making this an ongoing success. Thanks to the wonderful Chef and Staff of the Con Noi Italian Trattoria for your hospitality, service and amazing food.

 

Thank you to all the members for submitting your votes in a timely manner so that Murray was able to submit our Club’s Yes vote before the deadline of 31 August 2026.

We honour and will always remember Frank Leigh, a man whose name has become part of the very fabric of the Rotary Club of Camberwell.

 

For more than 45+ years of service, Frank gave to Rotary with a rare and steadfast generosity. That length of commitment alone is remarkable, but those who knew Frank understand that his contribution was measured not only in years, but in character, loyalty, and quiet dedication. He represented the very best of Rotary: service above self, friendship, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the community and to one another.

 

Over four and a half decades, Frank witnessed many changes in our club and our world, yet his devotion never wavered. He was part of the continuity that gave the Rotary Club of Camberwell its strength. Through meetings, projects, fellowship, and service, Frank helped shape the spirit and identity of this club. His presence was reassuring, his support dependable, and his example enduring.

 

Frank's service was not simply about attendance or longevity. It was about the way he carried himself as a Rotarian - with humility, warmth, and a genuine willingness to contribute. People like Frank do more than serve a club; they help build its culture. They remind us that Rotary is at its strongest when it is sustained by people of decency, commitment, and heart.

 

For many members, Frank would have been a familiar and valued friend - someone whose involvement could always be counted on, whose history with the club connected past and present, and whose loyalty reflected deep belief in Rotary's purpose. His was a life of contribution, and that contribution leaves a lasting mark.

 

As we reflect on Frank Leigh's life, we give thanks for his extraordinary 45-plus years of service to the Rotary Club of Camberwell. We honour the legacy he leaves behind: one of dedication, Frank will be greatly missed, warmly remembered, and deeply appreciated. His life stands as a lasting example of what it means to be a true Rotarian.
